Who we are

EVChargerCost is a free resource for UK electric car drivers. We build straightforward calculators and guides that give you accurate, no-nonsense answers to the questions that matter — how long will my car take to charge, what will it cost, and how much could I save by switching tariff or charger.

Every tool on this site is free to use, with no sign-up, no account, and no paywall. We’re not here to sell you anything or push you towards a particular product. We just want to give UK EV drivers the clearest possible picture of their charging costs.

Why we built it

When we started looking into home EV charging, we found plenty of vague guides and generic calculators built for American electricity rates and American cars. Nothing that gave a straight answer based on UK prices, UK EVs, and the UK grants actually available right now.

So we built it ourselves. All our calculations use current Ofgem price cap figures, real usable battery capacities for UK-market vehicles, and up-to-date government grant information. When rates or grant rules change, we update immediately.

How we keep the lights on

This site is free because it’s supported by occasional affiliate links to products and services we think are genuinely useful — home charger installers, smart energy tariffs, and similar. We only link to things that are relevant and we always label affiliate links clearly. Our calculator results and editorial content are never influenced by commercial relationships.
